Donald is a Diabetic and was referred to the Home Delivered Meals Program in March of 2005 by Arizona Long Term Care Program. Donald used to work forty plus hours a week but he became very ill and no longer able to work.  Donald had difficulty walking and standing for short periods of time.  Donald lived by himself and was unable to cook the nutritious diabetic diet type meals he needed to regain his health.  Donald enjoyed eating the meals that we brought to him and he enjoyed the company of the Home Delivered Meals Monitors that brought him the hot meals on a daily basis.  Slowly over the course of many months Donald’s health improved.  His health improved so much that he no longer qualified to be on the Arizona Long Term Care Program.
Donald now pays privately for his meals and is currently working part-time and enjoying the ability to leave his home and be a functioning member of society.
Donald’s health and self esteem have improved greatly in the last year.
